The project is particularly beneficial to young people who spend a lot of time indoors and feel a lack of connection to their community. We are offering the chance to step out into green spaces to strengthen a relationship with each other, nature and ourselves, and to provide a space of calm for tired minds.

Shaping Spaces is a free wellbeing programme for 16-25 year olds who feel, or are at risk of becoming, anxious, down or alone. We are looking at youth loneliness and ways to prevent and raise awareness of the problem.

Each Wednesday we go out and enjoy time together in some of Bradford’s beautiful green spaces

On Thursdays we meet indoors to run small group sessions and one-to-ones focusing on relevant issues and topics such as wellbeing, goals for the future and specifically researching loneliness together. We aim to support participants to build new friendships, increase their confidence and self-esteem, improve their wellbeing and gain tools to enable them to stay healthy after the programme.
